This medical is for completion of Amateur Boxing Medicals including:

Irish Amateur Boxing Association Medical Examination

Ulster Boxing Council Medical Examination for Men

The medical includes measurement of height and weight; recording of family history, current medical conditions and past medical history; blood pressure measurement; listening to the heart; pulse check; listening to the lungs; checking joints and mobility; enquiry about any history of fractures; abdominal examination; nervous system examination; visual acuity (eye test); fundoscopy (examining the back of the eyes); ear examination; and urine testing.

This medical does not include blood testing or an ECG tracing of the heart
Please note,as per the UBC and IABA, the following conditions render a person unfit to box:

Epilepsy
-
Diabetes
-
Retinal Detachment
-
History of serious head trauma
-
Acute infections
-
Hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorders

Valvular/septal defects of the heart

Hypertension (high blood pressure)
-
Hepatomegaly (enlargement of the liver)
-
Splenomegaly (enlargement of the spleen)
-
Absence of a kidney
-
Absence of a testicle
-
Deafness
-
For Ulster Boxing Council - Visual acuity (eye test) without glasses not meeting the standard of at least 6/12 in the better eye and at least 6/24 in the other eye

For Irish Amateur Boxing Association - Visual acuity (eye test) without glasses not meeting the standard of at least 6/18 in the better eye and at least 6/36 in the other eye
